dr. Neuma Das Merces Pereira
Short biography
Dr. Neuma Pereira received her Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the Federal University of Vales do Jequitinhonha and Mucuri in Diamantina, Brazil, in 2011. In 2013, she completed her Master's degree in Analytical Chemistry at the same institution. She then pursued her PhD in Physical Chemistry (2014-2018) at the Federal University of Minas Gerais in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Glaura Goulart Silva, where her research focused on the chemical synthesis and characterization of graphene oxide for use in electrochemical supercapacitors. After obtaining her PhD, Dr. Pereira worked as a researcher at the Center for Technology in Nanomaterials and Graphene (CTNano) in Belo Horizonte (2019-2021), where she completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Physics, focusing on the development of conductive MoS2 ink for electric humidity sensors. From 2021 to 2024, Dr. Pereira worked as a Technology Specialist at the Senai Institute of Innovation in Advanced Materials in São Bernardo do Campo, Brazil, where she managed RD&I projects in collaboration with industry partners. Currently, she is a MobilityGT Postdoctoral Researcher at the Laboratory for Tribology and Interface Nanotechnology (TINT), Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Ljubljana under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mitjan Kalin. Her research interests include nanomaterials, polymer composite processing, and tribology.
