Short biography
Dr. Parveen Kumar received his bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from Kurukshetra University Kurukshetra (Haryana), India in June 2011. He has awarded his master degree in Mechanical System Design from National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar, India in July 2014. He started his Ph.D. in August 2015 under the supervision of Prof. Dr. M. F. Wani at NIT Srinagar, India and successfully completed his Ph.D. degree in June 2018 with a thesis entitled “Tribological Characterisation of Hypereutectic Al-25Si Alloy: Influence of Graphene as Solid Lubricant Additive”. After his Ph.D., he has worked as an Assistant Professor in the department of Mechanical Engineering at Ch. Ranbir Singh State Institute of Engineering & Technology, Jhajjar (Haryana), India from September 2019 to July 2024. Currently, he is working as one of the Mobility GT Postdoctoral Researchers at the Laboratory for Tribology and Interface Nanotechnology (TINT), Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mitjan Kalin. His research interest includes processing of graphene based solid lubrication, Al-Si alloys and their tribology.
