dr. Somayeh Akbari
Short biography
Somayeh Akbari was born in 1984 in Tehran, Iran. Between 2003 and 2007 she studied Applied Chemistry in Tehran University. After she started her studies at Faculty of Physical Chemistry, Tarbiat moalem University in Iran. She graduated in 2010 with a thesis entitled Kinetic and Thermodynamic studies of adsorption of industrial dyes by waste sugar beet pulp with Fellowship by Iran Ministry of Science and Technology. She also studied Nanoscience at the Universidad del País Vasco, Spain in 2011-2012. She finished with a thesis entitled Evaluation (Adsorption and interaction) of Unimolecular Polymeric Nanoparticles as Potential Bioactive Compounds Carrier for drug delivery with Fellowship by Spain from DIPC.
In 2012 she received Marie Curie scholarship and joined Laboratory for Tribology and Interface Nanotechnology as a PhD student under the mentorship of Professor Mitjan Kalin. She finished her PhD in 2016 and stayed employed until January 2020.
